Five minutes, start to finish. You need the email you bought with, and an administrator login for your WordPress site (WordPress 6.6 or newer, PHP 8.0 or newer).
1. Find your licence key
Right after you pay, HolaReply emails you with the subject Your HolaReply Pro licence key (or Business). The key looks like this:
HR-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
No email after ten minutes? Look in your spam or Promotions folder. Your keys are also always on your account page (step 2 shows how to sign in).
2. Download HolaReply Pro
- Open app.holareply.com/account.
- Enter the email address you bought with and click Email me a sign-in link. There is no password.
- Open the email Your HolaReply sign-in link and click the link in it.
- Under your licence, click Download HolaReply Pro. You get a file called
holareply-pro-….zip.
Keep the file zipped. Safari on a Mac can unzip downloads by itself; if you see a folder instead of a .zip file, turn off Open “safe” files after downloading in Safari’s settings and download it again.
3. Install it in WordPress
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
- Click Upload Plugin at the top, then Choose file, pick the zip and click Install Now.
- If the free version of HolaReply is already installed, WordPress says the plugin is already installed and shows both versions. Click Replace current with uploaded. Your settings, knowledge base, index and conversations are all kept.
- Click Activate Plugin if WordPress offers it. If it goes back to the plugin list, HolaReply is already active.
4. Activate your licence
- In the dashboard menu, go to HolaReply → Licence.
- Paste your key into Licence key, the whole of it including
HR-, and click Activate. - The status turns to Active, with your plan, Updates and support until and the number of sites used, such as 1 / 1.
Activating sends your key, your site’s address and the plugin version to app.holareply.com, and nothing else. Pro and Business features switch on straight away.
5. Updates
New versions appear in Dashboard → Updates and on the Plugins page, like any other plugin. You can click Enable auto-updates next to HolaReply on the Plugins page so they install by themselves.
Business: more than one site
A licence for 5 or 25 sites works on that many sites. Repeat steps 3 and 4 on each site with the same key.
Moving to a new site
On the old site, go to HolaReply → Licence and click Remove from this site, then activate the key on the new one. If the old site is already gone, click Free this site next to it on your account page.
If something goes wrong
| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| That licence key was not found | Copy the key again from the email, the whole of it with no spaces. It must be a key bought with HolaReply, not a key for another plugin. |
| This licence is already active on as many sites as it allows | Free a site as in Moving to a new site above, or upgrade to Business from your account page. |
| Could not reach the HolaReply licence server | Your host is blocking outgoing connections. Ask them to allow HTTPS connections to app.holareply.com. |
| The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive | Your host limits uploads. Ask them to raise it, or unzip the file and upload the holareply folder to wp-content/plugins/ with your host’s file manager or FTP. |
| Expired: Pro keeps working, updates have stopped | Nothing is switched off. Renew from your account page to get updates and support again. |
